Montage Los Cabos to Host Mauro Colagreco Residency

The world-renowned chef will be running an exclusive pop-up at the luxury resort.

By Irenie Forshaw

Mauro Colagreco will be leaving his three-Michelin-star restaurant Mirazur this February to host an exclusive eight-day pop-up at Montage Los Cabos.

The world-renowned chef cut his teeth at some of the planet’s most prestigious restaurants, including a stint at Bernard Loiseau’s iconic three-Michelin-star eatery, La Côte d’Or, in Saulieu and Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.

When he was just 29 years old, Colagreco struck out on his own to set up Mirazur in Menton on the French-Italian border overlooking the Mediterranean. It didn’t take long for his vibrant dishes to capture the attention of the Michelin inspectors and within the first year, he was awarded a star.

By 2019, Mirazur had won the coveted three-star accolade and scooped the top spot in the World’s Best 50 Restaurants list. The talented chef’s dishes are inspired by the restaurant’s stunning surroundings with plenty of the ingredients grown at his on-site vegetable garden. Employing a strict zero-waste approach to cooking, Colagreco’s eatery also boasts a Green Michelin Star.

Now, guests will have a rare opportunity to taste the world-renowned chef’s food in a different setting during his ‘Mirazur Beyond Borders’ collaboration at Montage Los Cabos. Situated along the pristine shores of Santa Maria Bay, the oceanfront hotel will be hosting Colagreco for an eight-day residency during which diners will be given a tantalizing glimpse into the cooking philosophy behind Mirazur.

As you would expect, Colagreco will incorporate plenty of seasonal ingredients sourced locally from the Baja California peninsula. The talented chef has crafted a special nine-course tasting menu that expertly merges French and Mexican flavors, which will be served alongside an optional wine pairing curated by Mirazur’s head sommelier.

‘Mirazur Beyond Borders’ is just the first foodie event Montage Los Cabos will be hosting in 2023. Later this year, Dominique Crenn, the only three-Michelin-starred female chef in the US, is also set to host a pop-up at the luxury resort.
