Royal Mansour Marrakech has announced that highly celebrated chef Hélène Darroze will be taking the reigns as the hotel’s culinary director following the departure of Yannick Alléno.
Marking the French chef’s first foray outside of Europe, Darroze’s role at Royal Mansour will include overseeing two of the hotel’s celebrated restaurants: La Grande Table Marocaine and La Table. Currently, menu details remain sparce, but she has declared her intent to blend her own signature modern Europe style with classic Moroccan traditions, as well as continue the culinary legacy that Alléno forged over his 12 years at the hotel.
Across her current restaurant empire – which includes Hélène Darroze at The Connaught in London and Marsan by Hélène Darroze in Paris – Darroze boasts a total of six Michelin stars, making her one of the most decorated chefs in the world.

“It is with immense joy and great pride that I join the great family of the Royal Mansour Marrakech,” said Darroze. “I know that we share the same values of authenticity, respect, creativity and generosity, but also a common and lasting desire to put the human being and the preservation of the environment at the heart of our project.”
“We are very happy about this collaboration, a prelude to a new era at Royal Mansour Marrakech,” added Jean-Claude Messant, managing director at Royal Mansour Marrakech. “With Hélène Darroze, we will continue our ambition to always surprise our guests with unprecedented experiences in order to reinforce and perpetuate our status as a top culinary destination.”
“Chef Alléno has written part of the history of Royal Mansour Marrakech, he will always be welcome here,” he added. “We thank him for his immense dedication and expertise and wish him the very best in his new projects.”
As well as the two restaurants now overseen by Darroze, Royal Mansour Marrakech offers its guests further culinary delights in the form of Italian eatery Sesamo from chef Massimiliano Alajmo, and Le Jardin, an a fresco restaurant serving Asian-Mediterranean cuisine.
