Hakkasan Opens at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul

Guests can dine al fresco on the breezy terrace.

Mandarin Oriental has welcomed diners to a brand new Hakkasan eatery at its Istanbul property overlooking the Bosphorus. It’s the acclaimed Cantonese restaurant’s second outpost in Turkey, following the opening of Hakkasan at Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum last summer.

When it comes to dining destinations, the location is difficult to beat. Hakkasan Istanbul features a gorgeous outdoor terrace overlooking the Bosphorus, dotted with comfy sofas and lush green plants.

Inside is just as glamorous. Effortlessly blending traditional Chinese motifs while celebrating the Turkish heritage of the Ottoman Empire, the black and gold walls shimmer under softly glowing lights. Mandarin Oriental brought in local artisans to help craft the interiors; expect beautiful handmade carpets and custom wall hangings.

If you’ve been lucky enough to dine at Hakkasan’s Michelin-starred flagship in Mayfair, you’ll have an idea of what the menu entails. The Istanbul outpost will be serving the eatery’s much-loved signature dishes including Peking Duck with Beluga Caviar and the succulent Grilled Chilean Sea Bass.

It’s also well worth ordering the Supreme Seafood Platter – a decadent assortment of golden sturgeon caviar, tiger prawn cocktail, lobster claw mango salad, wild king crab leg, Chinese-style octopus salad, salmon tartare, hand-dived scallop crudo and three dipping sauces.

As for dessert, you can’t go wrong with the Hakka Platter – a wonderful selection of mini desserts spanning everything from chocolate peanut dumplings to hazelnut milk chocolate parfait and vegan pavlova.

And when it comes to drinks, you’re in for a real treat. As well as an array of vintages from across the world, Hakkasan Istanbul has created an elegant cocktail list. We love the sound of the Smoky Negroni which mixes Akashi blended Japanese whisky with umeshu plum, Campari, Otto’s vermouth, and applewood smoke.

Elsewhere at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul there are several other dining options including the laid-back Novikov eatery serving a fusion of Asian and Mediterranean cuisines, and the waterfront Olea Bosphorus & The Bar where you’ll find a vibrant menu rooted in the traditional flavors of Italian cooking.

“At our hotel, our unwavering dedication lies in offering out guests from across the globe a multitude of extraordinary dining experiences, all within the convenience of a single location,” commented Tunc Batum, general manager of Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul.
