The leading luxury whisky maker, The Macallan, has teamed up with the world’s most iconic department store, Harrods, to pay homage to one of the Uk’s most famous fictional characters: James Bond.
Celebrating six decades since its cinematic debut, the 007 franchise remains eternally popular after 25 movies. To mark its 60th birthday, The Macallan has launched a special series of whiskies dedicated to the British spy, which will be exclusively available to purchase at the London store.
To mark the release of the series, a section of Harrods’ ground floor has been transformed into an interactive experience that takes visitors through Bond’s escapades.

The exhibition includes artwork, storyboards and original designs from the Bond films, many of which can also be seen on the whisky’s packaging. The exhibition also has iconic props from the franchise, including the Little Nellie helicopter from You Only Live Twice (1967).
There is a recreation of Moneypenny’s office with filing cabinets full of priceless memorabilia spanning the six decades of Bond films. This includes Bond’s passport from GoldenEye (1995), the steel-rimmed hat of Oddjob in Goldfinger (1964), and the metal teeth of Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).
This has, of course, all been set up for the whisky itself, and many heading to the exhibition over the next four weeks will be doing so with the aim of getting their hands on one of these coveted bottles.
The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release has been split between six limited-edition decanters, all of which will be available for purchase at the Knightsbridge department store over the next four weeks.
Each bottle contains the same single malt expression, which was created by The Macallan’s master whisky maker Kirsteen Campbell. The whisky, which is said to capture the spirit of Bond, has “extreme grace balanced by remarkable strength and depth of character”.
For those looking to purchase all six bottles, The Macallan has partnered with Globe-Trotter to develop a limited edition case crafted especially to hold the six bottles. These, however, will be as elusive as 007 himself with only 300 having been made for sale.
