In a collaborative first, Mr Porter and Glenfiddich have joined forces to create a one-of-kind, highly exclusive Scotch whisky. While this is not the William Grant & Sons-owned single malt’s first foray into the fashion world, the release does mark Mr Porter’s first dabble with fine spirits.
The collaboration is more than a mere joining of names, with Mr Porter’s creative director Ben Palmer having been directly involved in the creation of the whisky itself. Under the guidance of the Speyside distillery’s malt master Brian Kinsman, Palmer hand-selected a combination of new American oak, ex-bourbon and European oak sherry casks to create the perfect liquid.
The result is a smooth, complex whisky that is golden in color. The liquid offers notes of vanilla and ginger on the nose, making way for a palate of spiced oak, caramelized brown sugar and fudge. The tasting experience is rounded off with Glenfiddich’s signature long-lasting sweetness.
Designed to join the diverse world of collectors-edition whiskies, the Glenfiddich x Mr Porter Scotch will be presented in a modern white casing, lined with a minimalist monogram that blends the two brands’ emblems. This sleek presentation feels like a deliberate move away from the traditional darker and more natural casings often seen on other collectible whiskies.

“Glenfiddich and Mr Porter have consistently challenged convention throughout their history, always pushing industry boundaries and innovation. This collaboration marks a first for both brands, joining a heritage and style as one, culminating in a limited and collectable whisky to enjoy for many years to come,” says Palmer.
“We are delighted to work alongside a brand that shares a similar ethos and approach to their craft and iconic curation,” adds Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich global brand director. “The marrying of style and heritage has created a unique and distinctive collector’s item of the best quality. This partnership with Mr Porter is the first of its kind and demonstrates how Glenfiddich is constantly striving to think ‘Where Next’ as a brand.”
The release is limited to just 1,500 bottles worldwide, making Mr Porter’s first move into Scotch a highly exclusive one. To be in with a chance of purchasing one of the coveted bottles, whisky aficionados will have to head to the Glenfiddich website where they can add their names to an online ballot which opens Wednesday, November 3 at 00:01 GMT. From here, a finite number of bidders will be selected to purchase their own bottle, which will be priced at $425.
