Alaula Daiquiri at Four Seasons Hualalai
- 2 oz Kuelana Hui Hui Hualalai Rum (or any light rum)
- .75 oz lime juice
- .5 oz Orgeat
- .25 oz Ube syrup (substitute passion fruit, strawberry or peach purée)
Combine all ingredients into a shaker, shake with pebble ice and pour into a coup glass. Fresh ingredients are the key to this drink, so even if you don’t have Ube syrup, substitute with a tropical fruit purée, like passion fruit, strawberry or peach. Garnish with a flower and lime wheel for an added tropical touch.
Transport yourself to Hawaii (namely the luxe Four Seasons Hualalai) with this delicious and colorful daiquiri perfect for your daily happy hour. You might not be surrounded by white-sand beaches, black-lava landscapes or verdant, tropical plants, but there’s no reason you can’t emulate the tranquility of the iconic Hawaiian resort. This cocktail celebrates local Hawaiian ingredients, with local Hawaiian rum and fresh, tropical fruits. The drink is served at Ulu Ocean Grill at the resort.
One of four Four Seasons Hawaii resorts, Hualalai in particular celebrates local culture and tradition, aiming to unite guests with the local history of Hawaii.
While you can’t travel there now, add Four Seasons Hualalai to your post-quarantine bucket list. The tranquil resort has many pools, fringed with palm trees and luxe cabanas, plus delicious dining options that infuse local tradition into each dish. Every accommodation delights, with views of the verdant gardens or the ocean, but there’s nothing more sumptuous than the Hawaii Loa Presidential Villa. The villa is named after Hawai’i Loa, Hawaii’s first king who discovered the islands along with Hualalai, his queen. It is modeled after the traditional style of the Hawaiian royal family and has three bedrooms, a private whirlpool and direct beach access. At 5,518 sq ft, it’s the largest accommodation on property. Watch humpback whales peer out of the ocean from your private terrace.
