When it comes to designing your dream yacht, what springs to mind? Perhaps, it’s gathering a unique collection of art to adorn the walls, or maybe you’re searching high and low for the perfect dining table. Arguably most important of all, however, is ensuring a good night’s kip.
That’s where Savoir comes in. The luxury brand has been crafting bespoke beds for over a century; in 1904 hotelier and theatrical impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte set about creating an extra-comfy bed to be rolled out at the Savoy Hotel (the Savoir No. 2 is still made today).
In recent years, the British bedmaker expanded its offering for the superyacht market crafting beds for VIP cabins onboard ships designed by the likes of Heesen, Feadship and Benetti. And, in September, Savoir chose the Monaco Yacht Show to unveil its new ‘Savoir at Sea’ service. Designed especially for superyacht owners, the unique offering enables clients to build a bespoke bed tailored to fit any boat specification.

Handcrafted in England and Wales from horsetail, wool, and cotton, Savoir beds are made from the highest quality materials. Clients can choose to have a member of the team come to their yacht to take measurements and create a custom model to meet specific measurements (the team can even build the mattresses and toppers on the boat).
Every last detail can be adapted for each client’s needs from adding anti-bug protection to the cotton casing to incorporating weather-resistant fabrics. Savoir can also add corrosion-resistant springs to the base of the bed to counter high levels of humidity onboard.
“We are delighted to introduce our ‘Savoir at Sea’ service to the yachting world,” said Nic Alexandre, managing director of Savoir. “Our yacht business has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, and key to this is our exclusive service where our clients don’t have to compromise.”
