When it comes to glamorous hotels, Paris has more than a few. Now, the French capital has added yet another elegant retreat to its ever-growing collection: Hotel des Grands Voyageurs.
Situated in the heart of the 6th Arrondissement in the Left Bank Quartier of Saint-Placide, the new property – from the group behind Hotel Dame des Arts which opened earlier this year – is inspired by the “golden age of travel”.
This is very much a hotel for art lovers. Carefully curated works are dotted throughout the property from lithographs by Gustav Klimt to Osanna Visconti di Modrone’s beautiful bespoke mirrors and bas-relief sculptures by Francois Gilles.

EQ Hotels brought in revered architect Fabrizio Casiraghi to put his stamp on the property. Designed to resemble a “Parisian art collectors’ residence”, Hotel des Grand Voyageurs has just 138 rooms. The interiors are pared back yet sophisticated; expect antique wooden furnishings, unique artworks, and thick blue carpets embroidered with gold stars.
The hotel is also home to a vibrant brasserie – Grands Voyageurs – where guests can enjoy a menu inspired by the flavors of French and American cuisine. Expect classic dishes like Waldorf Salad and Pate Croute, alongside plenty of seafood (kick things off with the sea bream carpaccio).
There is also a selection of lighter bites including traditional grilled cheese sandwiches and lobster rolls drizzled yuzu mayonnaise. Be sure to save space for dessert; for a touch of theatre opt for the Baked Alaska, Absinthe flamed. And, after dinner, head downstairs to the cozy underground bar – Poppy – for a nightcap.
The enviable location also deserves a mention. Hotel des Grands Voyageurs is set among Saint-Placide’s vibrant bars, boutiques, and gourmet restaurants so you’ll never be short of things to do.
