Fontainebleau Las Vegas to Make its Debut on the Strip

The glitzy resort will feature 36 restaurants and bars, and an expansive spa.

Sin City is filled with glitzy resorts, each clamoring to be crowned the most extravagant. And, this winter, the bustling metropolis is set to welcome yet another gigantic hotel: Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Slated to welcome its first guests on December 13, the hotly anticipated resort cost a whopping $3.7bn to build and has been 23 years in the making (real estate mogul Jeffrey Soffer behind the Fontainebleau brand bought the land back in 2000).

Currently in the final throes of construction, Fontainebleau Las Vegas will be housed within a 67-story skyscraper – the tallest occupiable building in Nevada – on the northern end of the Strip.

The property will feature 3,644 rooms and suites in hues of blue, silver, and coral pink. Every accommodation boasts floor-to-ceiling windows for killer views of the Strip with mercury-glass mirrors and brass details adding to the opulent vibe.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas will be home to 36 restaurants – yes, you read that correctly – opening with the hotel in December and throughout 2024. Among the star-studded lineup of culinary talents setting up shop at the resort is Masa Ito (of the three-Michelin-starred Masa in New York) and Alan Yau (the restaurateur behind Hakkasan and Yauatcha).

The other major draw is the resort’s 55,000-sq-ft Lapis Spa designed by Milan-based Lissoni & Partners and helmed by Fontainebleau Las Vegas director of spa and wellness, Jennifer Lynn. Set over two levels, the expansive wellness center will include 44 treatment rooms, infrared saunas, a salt mist chamber, a snow shower and a herbal inhalation room.

“Crafted with precision, care, and a commitment to wellbeing, every element of Lapis Spa will transport guests into a realm of tranquillity and renewal,” said Lynn. “Just as we take pride in curating extraordinary experiences for our guests, we are equally proud to have assembled a team of world-renowned health and wellness experts to guide them through each step of their experience.”

The spa itself will adapt to visitors’ natural circadian rhythm throughout the day, drawing on different lighting levels and aromatherapy oils to match guests’ energy levels from morning until night.

Alongside the wellness facilities, the resort is set to open a 14,000-sq-ft fitness center fully equipped with Peloton bikes, Hydrow rowing machines and Woodway treadmills. Guests can also opt for personal training sessions and daily yoga classes in the “Movement Studio.”

Those with a penchant for shopping will be pleased to hear Fontainebleau Las Vegas will also be home to a sprawling 95,500-sq-ft luxury boutique retail district (located on the first two floors). Naturally, Soffer is building a 150,000-sq-ft casino floor, too.

“For almost 70 years, the Fontainebleau brand has challenged boundaries and expectations,” commented Soffer. “With Fontainebleau Las Vegas, we have transcended aspiration and set the stage for a new era of luxury hospitality defined by innovation, sophistication, and opulence, with an inextricable link to our roots at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.”
