This will be a very dynamic system as there will be tons of wind energy, but the good news is that this setup does not look favorable to be a significant tornado threat. However, a few spin-up tornadoes will be possible along the main line of storms.
There will be the potential of rogue supercells that may develop out well ahead of the main squall line that will begin the severe threat as early as 2 pm for the western and southwestern parts of the area.

A very dynamic system with a strong cold front will move through Central Alabama during the latter part of Friday and into the early morning hours on Saturday that will bring us a wide gamut of weather conditions... from strong to severe storms to sleet and snow. Here are my latest thoughts on what I see happening.
Most of us in Central Alabama will enjoy a great and warm weekend, but a few showers and storms may sneak into the western parts on Sunday afternoon. Strong to severe storms look to be possible on Monday. Dry weather will return late on Wednesday.
A very dynamic system will be moving across the southeast on Thursday and Friday that will be bringing the potential for strong to severe storms to Central Alabama from Thursday afternoon through the early morning hours on Friday.
A surface low will be moving from Oklahoma through the Mid-Mississippi Valley and into the Ohio Valley on Thursday that will be swinging a strong cold front through the southeast that will bring a threat of severe storms to North/Central Alabama.
