A tropical depression is likely to develop within the next 48-72 hours over the Gulf of Mexico or the northwestern Caribbean Sea. This system will not affect Central Alabama's weather at all.

The remnants of Hurricane Agatha moved onshore Monday on the Pacific Coast of Mexico and will move east to northeastward across the Yucatán Peninsula and will emerge over the northeastern parts of the Caribbean Sea and the southern Gulf of Mexico.
Wednesday Morning Look At Today’s Severe Threat
This will be a very dynamic system as there will be tons of wind energy, but the good news is that this setup does not look favorable to be a significant tornado threat. However, a few spin-up tornadoes will be possible along the main line of storms.
Late Tuesday Morning Look at Today’s Severe Weather Threat
There will be the potential of rogue supercells that may develop out well ahead of the main squall line that will begin the severe threat as early as 2 pm for the western and southwestern parts of the area.

Great Weather Today, But Strong to Severe Storms Possible on Monday
Most of us in Central Alabama will enjoy a great and warm weekend, but a few showers and storms may sneak into the western parts on Sunday afternoon. Strong to severe storms look to be possible on Monday. Dry weather will return late on Wednesday.
