Central Alabama’s Weather for the Week & Weekend Ahead

A Rather Quiet Work Week Ahead
Monday and Tuesday’s weather will be rather similar… Skies will be mostly sunny throughout the day on Monday with afternoon highs reaching the lower to mid-70s. Tuesday will be much of the same except for a few more clouds rolling through the area during the mid to late morning hours. Highs will be in the lower 70s in the northwest to the upper 70s in the southeast.

Wednesday will be another dry day that will feature plenty of sunshine, but the passage of a cold front will keep temperatures cooler, and it will be quite breezy at times. Highs will range from the upper 50s in the northwest to the lower 70s in the southeast. Thursday will feature maximum sunshine for all of Central Alabama with cool temperatures in the north and milder temperatures in the south. Highs will be in the lower 60s to the lower 70s.

On Friday, a surface low will be getting its act together off to our west and will be moving eastward. That will bring clouds to the area throughout the day, but we’ll stay dry until the pre-dawn hours on Saturday morning. Highs will be in the upper 60s to the upper 70s across the area.

A Good Bit of Rain to Start the Weekend
The low will continue to move eastward and will skirt by just to the north of the state. There will be some instability involved as the system moves through the area that will make rain and storms likely throughout the day, with the potential of a couple of storms becoming strong. We’ll have better details as we get closer to the weekend. Highs will be throughout the 70s across the area.

Those storms are well out of the area by sunrise on Sunday morning and skies will be mostly clear throughout the day. It will be a nice day with highs reaching the upper 60s to the upper 70s across the area

Racing Returns to Talladega This Weekend
We may have a mixed bag of weather this weekend as Saturday looks to be a stormy day at the track with plenty of rain, but Sunday will be a much better day with plenty of sunshine. Highs on both days will be in the lower 70s with morning lows in the lower 50s. If you are planning to be at the track, please stay weather aware on Saturday as a strong storm or two are possible at this point.
