As of 2:30 pm, we have some light shower activity over the northern and northwestern parts of Alabama that is moving mainly to the northeast. At this point, there is no shower activity close to the Gardendale area.
The good news is that the latest high-resolution forecast models are keeping much of the shower activity out of the area during the 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm time frame, but I wouldn’t be surprised that a few sprinkles may fall sometime before 8:00 pm. Shouldn’t be enough to really worry about if any do fall at all.
Temperatures will be around 48 degrees at 6:00 pm and holding steady through 9:00 pm as cloud cover will keep some radiational heat at the surface that we’ve collected during the daylight hours. Still cold enough to grab some of the yummy hot chocolate that may be available along the parade route.
