Severe Threat Is Over For The Night

As we approach the 8:00 pm hour, we have a few scattered showers over the northeastern portions of Central Alabama. None of these are strong and are putting down moderate to heavy rain especially from Cleveland to Snead. The good news is that the atmosphere remains relatively stable and is not expected to become severe.

The severe threat has come to an end for tonight and we will be rain-free with clearing skies by the time we get to the late local news.

While we did have some trees downed and very few structures damaged from today’s storms, nearly all of the area was spared from what could have occurred from the severe threats that were listed this morning. You can thank the storms that stayed along the coast throughout the day for cutting the flow of energy off from reaching the area.
