Strong Storms Affecting Parts Of Walker, Marion, & Fayette Counties

At 702 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Blooming Grove, or 9 miles northwest of Fayette, moving northeast at 70 mph. Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Winfield, Fayette, Carbon Hill, Glen Allen, Kansas, Nauvoo, Gu-Win, Eldridge, Bluff, Bazemore, Wayside, Bevill State College Fayette, Hubbertville, Fowlers Crossroads and Texas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
