While It Remains A Little Cool At Midday, We Have Plenty Of Sunshine

As of 11:00 am this morning, we have mostly clear skies across Central Alabama. We will have some clouds move in from the west throughout the day which will filter out some of the sunshine at times, but skies will end up mostly clear to partly cloudy through sunset. Most locations were already up in the mid to upper 50s across the area. Birmingham was at 55 degrees. The cool spot was Haleyville at 52 degrees. Troy was the warm spot at 61 degrees. Those temperatures will eventually top out in the upper 50s to the mid-60s.

For this evening through the overnight hours, those clouds will be on a decrease and we should be able to see plenty of stars. Overnight lows will drop down into the mid-30s to the lower 40s across the area.

We’ll have plenty of sunshine throughout the day on Tuesday as the dry weather pattern will continue across Central Alabama. It will be a good bit warmer with highs reaching the mid to upper 60s for most locations.

A broad low is located to the east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands that has a 50% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next couple of days. It will be moving northwestward then northward and will eventually merge with a frontal system that will halt any further development. It will be no threat to any land. The rest of the Atlantic Basin remains quiet.
