Cloudy & Cool For Most Of Central Alabama At Midday

CONDITIONS AT 11:30 AM

While there is a good bit of cloud cover over much of Central Alabama, some of those clouds are thin enough for the skies to be brighter than a dull gray. No rain in the area at this point and it should remain that way at least through the late-night hours. Temperatures are currently in the mid-50s to the upper 60s across the area. Birmingham was at 57 degrees. Troy was the warm spot at 68 degrees. Several locations were tied as the cool spots at 54 degrees.

I want to send a quick shoutout to my beautiful wife, Amy. We are celebrating our 19th Wedding Anniversary today. Happy Anniversary… love’ya so much!

WEATHER FOR THE REST OF YOUR MONDAY

Clouds will continue to be on the increase throughout the rest of the daylight hours, but those clouds will begin to push out of the area during the overnight hours. Most of us will stay dry through the rest of this Monday, but there is a very, very small chance of a shower or two over the extreme eastern and southeastern parts of Central Alabama after midnight tonight. Afternoon highs will get up into the lower 60s to the upper 60s from northwest to southeast across the area. Lows will stay warmer tonight with the clouds in the lower 40s to the lower 50s.

A MUCH BETTER AND WARMER DAY ON TUESDAY

Tuesday will be a brighter day across Central Alabama as those pesky clouds that we will see today finally will be moving out of the area. Before it is all said and done, there may be a stray shower or two over the extreme southeastern parts of the area during the morning hours, but those chances are very slim at this point. The rest of the area will be dry throughout the day with skies becoming mostly sunny. Highs will be in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

THE TROPICS

The Atlantic Basin is free from any tropical waves or disturbances that are of any concern and no new tropical cyclones are expected to form within the next five days.
