No Rain & Very Nice Temperatures At Midday

While we do continue to have some cloud cover over the northwestern corner of Central Alabama at the midday hour, those clouds are diminishing in coverage. At this point, all of the shower activity has exited the area and we are all dry. We have a wide range of temperatures across the area, from the lower 60s in the northwest to the mid-80s in the southeast. Birmingham was currently at 73 degrees. The cool spot was Haleyville at 63 degrees while the warm spot was Troy at 84 degrees.

For the rest of the day, those clouds will continue to diminish in coverage over the northwestern parts of the area while skies will be mostly clear across the rest. There may be an isolated shower or two over the extreme east or southeastern parts of the area during the afternoon, but nearly all of the area will remain dry. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 70s to the upper 80s. Some clouds will work back into the area during the late night and overnight hours, but no rain is expected. Lows will dip down into the mid-50s to the mid-60s.

Wednesday will be a nice and warm day across Central Alabama. We’ll start off with some clouds, but those clouds will diminish throughout the day leaving us with mostly clear skies. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s across the area.

While the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean See are both quiet at this point, we do have three disturbances present over the Atlantic. The two disturbances just off of the US East Coast has a very low chance of any development during the next five days has they move to the northeast. The third disturbance out over the Central Atlantic is starting to get a little better organized and a subtropical or tropical system could develop within the next 24 to 36 hours. Further development is unlikely after that as upper-level winds will wreak havoc on the disturbance.
