For any storms that do form in the southern parts of Central Alabama during the late afternoon through the early evening hours will have the small potential for isolated damaging winds due to microbursts and some hail up to 1-inch in diameter. The threat area will be along and south of a line from Demopolis to Wetumpka to Opelika. Timing for those stronger storms will be from now until 9:00 pm.
As far as the rest of Central Alabama, we continue to have a small risk of a few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening hours mainly south of a line from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Anniston, while north of that will remain hot and dry. Highs are still expected to top out in the mid to upper 90s across the area. Remember, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for the southern and southeastern parts of the area until 9:00 pm tonight.
