NWS Birmingham has issued a HEAT ADVISORY for nearly all of the counties in the western half of Central Alabama starting at 12:00 pm and expires tonight at 9:00 pm. Here are the counties included in the advisory: Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lowndes, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, and Walker.
Hot and humid conditions continue across Central Alabama today. Daytime highs will reach the mid to upper 90s in the advisory locations, and with the combination of those temperatures with the higher moisture levels, heat index values could reach the 104-109 degree range.
