Line of strong thunderstorms moving ever so slowly to the south through the southern portions of North Alabama and the northern parts of Central Alabama as of 8:15 PM. Very heavy rainfall, dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, and some brief gusty winds are occurring with these storms. The leading edge on the ragged line of storms stretches from Hackleburg to Jasper to Morris to Steele.
These storms may continue for a couple more hours before starting to rapidly diminish with much of all activity gone by midnight tonight. A few lingering showers may be possible after that especially over the southern and south-central parts of the area. We may have one or two storms strong enough to warrant Significant Weather Advisories, but severe storms are not likely.
