Seven-Day Forecast For Central Alabama

WEATHER FOR MONDAY
While the remnants of Barry continue to move northward across western Arkansas and up into Missouri, an arm of moisture will still be connecting the disturbance with moisture over the Gulf of Mexico. We’ll have scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with much higher coverage over the western parts of the area. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 80s to the lower 90s from northwest to southeast. Activity across the area will greatly decrease after the sun goes down but scattered showers will remain possible over the western parts of the area. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

WE DRY OUT & RETURN TO SUMMERTIME WEATHER THROUGH MIDWEEK
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the remnants of Barry will begin to curve around to the east but will be well north of Central Alabama that we should not see any added rain chances from it. Winds will be a little breezy on Tuesday, but other than that, we can expect partly sunny skies with only a small risk of isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 80s to the mid-90s across the area from northwest to southeast.

REALLY HEATING UP TO END THE WORK WEEK
Ridging really starts to build in on Thursday and Friday which will increase the heat levels, and add that to the higher humidity levels, we’ll have to watch for possible high heat indices. Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy on both days with only a small risk of an isolated afternoon shower or storm. Highs will top out in the lower to mid-90s with a few locations possibly hitting the upper 90s.

THE CENTRAL ALABAMA WEEKEND AHEAD
Much of the same story but the ridge moves just enough to allow for a little more coverage in rain. We’ll have a chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms mostly during the afternoon hours. Highs will be in the lower to mid-90s across the area on both days.
