PRETTY NICE AND WARM OUT THERE AT MIDDAY
As we approach the noon hour across Central Alabama, it is a really nice day out there. We have a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures feel really comfortable right now due to lower humidity levels. As you can see, back to our west, a surface front is slowly trying to progress to the east. Out ahead of the front is a line of showers and storms. All of this action will mainly stay out of the state for the rest of the daytime hours, but rain chances will begin to increase for late tonight and into the day tomorrow.
CENTRAL ALABAMA TEMPERATURES AT 11:44AM
Temperatures are currently ranging in the 70s across the area, with the warmest spot being Birmingham at 79 degrees. The cool spot at the moment is Demopolis at 71 degrees.
FOR THE REST OF TODAY
Skies will remain partly cloudy throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the early evening hours. It will be warm, with highs in the upper 70s to the mid 80s across the area. For the late night and overnight hours, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, and there will be a slight risk for a few showers and maybe a thunderstorm for locations to the west of the I-59 and I-20/59 corridors. Lows will be in the upper 50s to the lower 60s.
HUMP DAY WEATHER
We’ll have mostly cloudy skies throughout the day on Wednesday, and with the weak surface front, there will be a small risk for scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two. With limited moisture, you can expect rain amounts to be light. Most will remain dry, and the odds for any one location will be around 1 in 4. Afternoon highs will be in the lower to mid 80s. Rain chances diminish for the late afternoon and evening hours and skies will become mostly clear. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 50s.
